On Tuesday night in Detroit, the Orlando Magic finished their season with a 91-86 loss to the Pistons. In spite of having the best season in several years, being outscored by Detroit was a devastating disappointment to my beloved Harriet. She took it as a personal loss.
But, the good news is. . .
The Gordy’s divorce has been put on hold and we are prepared to resume a normal, happy marriage. According to the Hollywood standard, we have more than ample grounds for divorce: irreconcilable differences. I do NOT get excited about watching a sweaty bunch of pampered, over sized kids who are as over paid, as they are over grown. I don’t want to waste the time that could be spent watching paint dry or grass grow by watching them.
To show you how bad it is, our daughters gave me a little plaque to hang on my wall for 8 months a year:
“We interrupt this marriage to bring you the Magic season!”
Most folks in Florida will tell you that we have just 15 days until the 2008 hurricane season. Harriet is counting down the 168 days until the 2008-09 Magic season! Officially November 2 –but unfortunately, pre-season will begin any day now.
